I wrote Lost Girl for my baby sister (who's now 39-ish years old, mind you) and much to my surprise the piece was recently shortlisted for the 2023 Writing District Prize... wow!

"Lost Girl" review for B. Keaton: I would have rated this four because it was too dang short and I really wanted to know more. But I also enjoyed it overall, and maybe the shortness is actually a strength. So, I'll go with a solid 4.5 stars. I can't think of much to add about the story because what I would say might end up spoiling it for someone. Setting in the 1980s was a good way to throw your reader off the trail.
a deceptive introduction to characters whom I should've known sooner than I did ❤️ and then you really got me like 😦 with that last paragraph!
Dude, that was good. This was me at the ending:
Brandon!! Omg, I did not see that coming! Short and sweet, but a very powerful little tale.
Thanks for sharing this. I loved the dynamics between the family, and also how the first sentence really set the tone. I knew right then it probably wasn't going to be a "happy" ending, but it was still a very, very fun read.
